1. Advice on Choosing the Right Mattress
Buying a new Sleep Set can be a daunting and often confusing exercise. We at the Sleep Gallery try our utmost to make it as pain and hassle free an experience as possible. With Expert advise and leading bed ranges… we strive to match you up with your perfect sleeping partner: Your Bed!
2. What are the Different Type of Mattresses
There are 4 different sleep systems available on the market i.e: Spring, Infinite Coil, Layered Foam and Pocket Coil. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Narrow down your options so you can make the most informed decision.
3. How much should I spend on a new mattress?
Knowing what you are willing to spend on your new bed, can help avoid nasty surprises. It is not necessarily the most expensive bed that will be the best option for your specific needs. Settle on an realistic budget and advise the Salesperson… they should be able to advise you on the best options in that price range.
4. What is the best feel of a bed?
We never advise buying a bed without actually testing it out. Go to a showroom and lay down.. this will ensure you get the right bed for your specific needs. It will also be a good indicator of the Comfort level that best suits you.. Some like it Firm, some like it Soft & Plush.
5. What are the Guarantees & Warantees of your mattresses?
Ensure that you are informed about the Guarantee & Warranty policies. Each manufacturer is different and as such, you need to make sure that you are made aware of these. We at The Sleep Gallery only deal with reputable, well established brands and as such have complete faith in the quality of our after-sales service.
6. Do I need a new foundation / base with my new mattress?
Taking into consideration the type of base you need for your mattress (see our article regarding the best type of foundations for your mattress), you can now better evaluate if you require a base as well. If your current foundation is structurally sound, then there is generally no reason to change… save yourself some money or put the extra money you saved towards getting a better mattress! The only thing worth considering is that the new mattress will have a different fabric to your existing base, but since sheets and base covers generally cover these, this need not worry you too much.
7. Can I pay be Credit card online?
Yes, we accept online credit card payments through PayFast. Once your order has been confirmed, we can send you a payment link via email.
8. Can I pay by Cash or Card on delivery?
Yes, we are able to accept Cash on delivery. If you prefer to pay by card on delivery, kindly let our sales team know so they can ensure the mobile card machine is sent with the delivery team.
NB: COD payments are only available for deliveries we do ourselves in the Cape Town region.
9. If I find there is a fault or defect on the mattress, what can I do?
Most manufacturers offer a guarantee and warranty on their products. If your mattress falls within the specified period, fill in the service call form here (link). We will ensure the relevant manufacturer receives your details and nature of complaint. Its important to note that under guarantee, there is no cost to repair or replace your mattress. Under Warranty however, there will be a cost, which is determined by the manufacturer depending on length of use and nature of the problem.
10. Do you deliver nationwide?
The simple answer is No. We are based in Cape Town and can provide deliveries for Cape Metropole and surrounding towns. Some of our bigger brands do however have warehousing facilities in other provinces, so delivery can be arranged in Major cities and surrounds for brands such as Simmons, Cloud Nine and Rest Assured.
11. What is your delivery cost?
Cost of delivery depends on your location. We offer Free delivery to Claremont, Rondebosch and Kenilworth areas. For other areas in Cape Town there is a small fee between R150 – R300 depending on distance. If you live outside of Cape Town, please contact us to get an estimate on delivery cost.
12. Can you take our old bed / mattress away when delivering the new one?
Yes, our delivery team can dispose of your old mattress. Just advise our sales team of the need to collect your old mattress so they can ensure delivery guys are aware.
